Spiraling Stripes Hat Set

self-published in December 2007: $6 PDF
also in a printed booklet through MagCloud for $6 (full preview available)

This pattern set includes 6 different patterns - wide straight brim, slanting brim, and no brim, each with spiraling clockwise and counter-clockwise versions. In addition to all these versions, the pdf also includes a page of variations, for making a more slouchy shape, and different striping options. These hats are a fun way to play with short-rows on a small scale; great for beginner knitters wanting to try something a little more complex!

there may be kits available in the leethal shop!

Kits include a 90ish yard skein of hand-dyed recycled yarn, self-striping to make a spiraling hat, the pattern set with all 6 hat versions to choose from, and a pair of beaded stitch markers!

The stats:

Size: adult medium-ish, with slouchy/larger variations

Yarn: about 90 yards of worsted to aran weight, more for the beret styles

Needles: pair of size US 9 straights

Gauge: about 4.5 stitches/inch

Skills needed: short rows, increases + decreases, provisional cast-on, 3-needle bind-off (all technique instructions are included in the pattern)

The pdf is 12 pages with lots of detail and photos; the patterns themselves are on just 3 pages with only a couple pictures, for easier printing.
