diy knit kits
double scoops custom kits
double scoops is a dual pattern for both ice cream earmuffs and an ice cream headband - these kits come with all the yarn you need to make one, custom dyed in ice cream flavors, plus the pattern booklet. each kit includes 5 yard scoops of the ice cream yarns, a 14 yard scoop of the coffee-dyed cone yarn, and enough yarn for the back lining in your choice of fiber/color (30 yards for the earmuffs, 36 yards for the headband). exact kit packaging will vary, but yarn will always come in scoops!
for pattern details, see the pattern page.
be sure to complete all 3 steps before checking out from the paypal page (just hit "continue shopping" for each step):
- pick your kit - either earmuffs or headband
- choose as many flavors as your kit needs (4 for earmuffs, 6 for headband)
- choose which yarn you want for the back lining
all yarn is recycled 100% wool unless otherwise noted.
you may need to allow a few extra days for shipping custom kits (you'll get an email if it'll be longer than a couple days to mail out).
online kit orders include a copy of the pattern pdf! (emailed to you within 24 hours of your order placement - if you'd like it sent to your ravelry account so it'll be in your library, let me know your rav username.)

third - choose a yarn for the back lining:
recycled cotton yarns are stranded, so they may be a little tricky to knit with if you're not used to them. cotton will make a great lining for anyone with wool sensitivity - soft, itch-free, and still warm because the fronts are wool. a wool lining will provide extra warmth, and the fancier fibers (merino blend, alpaca) will be extra soft and super warm (but alpaca will be itchy for those with wool sensitivity). some back yarns may knit up at a slightly different gauge than the scoop yarns, making the back piece a wee bit smaller or larger - as long as the pieces are sewn together evenly, it'll all block out fine.
